Comment on Breeding TractDistributed in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The region is bounded by Tibet to the north, Nepal to the east, Uttar Pradesh to the south, and the Garhwal region to the west. It consists of a large Himalayan tract, along with submontane strips called Terai and Bhabar. The region is characterized by forests of Chir Pine, Himalayan Cypress, Pindrow Fir, alder, sal, and sandal. The climate is mild, with snow on higher ridges and severe frosts in valleys.
